Now that you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, your baby is counting on you to provide quality nutrients for a healthy start to life. So the impact of your nutritional choices is two fold. Health eating habits should be taught, learned and continued for the rest of your life. Choosing the most nutritious food which fits your lifestyle and budget can be confusing. We will share with you our general guidelines for healthy eating. Such things as frequency of meals, portion control, nutrition density and food combination can make all the difference in the world. This is not a “pregnant diet,” it is simply an understanding of the impact of your choices and some suggestions to enhance the health of your pregnancy.

What Should I Eat?

Since this is such a broad topic, we will discuss it in terms of overall quality of nutrients and specific individual needs directed by a Registered Dietitian. We want to enhance awareness of foods that promote a healthy pregnancy and life.

What Not to Eat?

If you are an individual with specific dietary concerns, please consult your Registered Dietitian. There are some foods, suggested by professionals, you may want to avoid. The more you know the better off you will be. A safe and healthy pregnancy is your goal.
